About the UNLweb

Created and maintained by the UNDL Foundation, the UNLweb is a web portal to the community of researchers and developers of the Universal Networking Language (UNL).  The UNLweb is free and open to anyone interested in joining the UNL Programme and contributing to reduce language barriers and strengthen cross-cultural communication through UNL. Join now: the UNL is a property of the United Nations and, therefore, an asset of all of humankind.

The UNLweb aims at bringing together documentation, training, natural language resources and computer resources related to the UNL framework. For the time being, it includes five different systems:

  • The UNLarium, which is the UNDL Foundation’s web-based integrated development environment for creating and editing language resources for natural language engineering especially related (but not limited) to the UNL framework;
  • The UNLdev, which is the UNDL Foundation’s web-based integrated development environment for creating computer programs, systems and applications related (but not limited) to the UNL framework;
  • The UNLwiki, which is the UNDL Foundation’s web-based environment for providing instructions and documentation related to the UNL framework;
  • The UNLforum, which is the UNDL Foundation’s web-based message board for discussing issues and disseminating information related to the UNL framework; and
  • VALERIE, which is the UNDL Foundation’s virtual learning environment for teaching and training the UNL Community about UNL-related matters.
The UNLweb is entirely free and all its results are released under an Attribution Share Alike (CC-BY-SA) Creative Commons license, which means that you may use the resources as you want, provided that you cite the authors and that the derivative work is released under the same or a similar license.
