I think this is OK. Another possibility is simply to understand that
"crying" is a nominalisation of "cry", i.e., "cry.@noun".

Indeed. So it's better to make it cry.@process, if there is "cry" as a noun. Note that the verb "to cry", accordingly, would be "cry.@verb".
